We are currently looking for a Laboratory Technician for our client, Monsanto, who is available to start on short notice.

Please note: this is a role in a high-throughput work environment, where the work—particularly counting and preparing samples—is repetitive and routine.

We are looking for candidates who do not have vacations longer than one week planned in June, July, or August.

Where will you be working?

You will be joining an innovative site in the Rotterdam region, where the focus is on the development and production of vegetable seeds. Research is conducted into stronger and more sustainable crops such as tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers. In addition to plant breeding, the site also works on testing and improving cultivation methods.

Main Purpose:
 Under the general supervision of a Senior Technician and Operational Support, the Laboratory Technician will prepare routine samples for Seed Health testing.

But that’s not all — this role comes with a wide range of key tasks and responsibilities.

What will you be doing?

* Collect, count, and prepare vegetable seed samples for further processing and analysis

* Use systems such as LIMS and Microsoft Office

* Ensure compliance with quality and phytosanitary regulations

* Perform tasks related to equipment maintenance and quality certifications

* Support colleagues in the lab during operational tasks

* Help maintain a safe, compliant, and positive work environment in line with HSE, Business Conduct, and HR policies

What are the requirements to be considered?

* MBO Level 4 (Senior Secondary Vocational Education) or higher

* No specific experience required, but a keen eye for detail and a careful working attitude are essential

* Familiarity with laboratory processes, a customer-focused mindset, attention to quality, teamwork, continuous improvement, and the ability to work in a cross-functional environment

* Able to apply SOPs, ISO/ISTA standards, and HSE policies. Ensure timely reporting of results and availability in SAP

* Proactive, strong interpersonal and networking skills, and good communication in English (written and spoken)

* Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with LabVantage is a plus
